Spanish King's Cup 2011-12
The Copa del Rey - The King's Cup in English is Spain's annual knock-out cup competition and is run by the Real Federación Española de Fútbol.
The early single-tie rounds of the Copa del Rey kick off in late August between teams from Segunda B and Tercera División with the Second Division A
Liga Adelante clubs joining the competition in early September.
The 20 Liga BBVA clubs join in December for the last 32 and the later rounds, which are disputed over two home and away legs, take place in January
and February with the Final being played in late May.
The current 2010-11 title holders are Real Madrid.

It underwent a number of name changes during the Spanish Republic, when it was known as the Copa de la República, and Franco's Dictatorship, when
it was called the Copa del Generalísimo.
Since the
return of democracy in 1975, the full name for the Copa del Rey is Campeonato de España – Copa de Su Majestad el Rey de Fútbol
(Championship of Spain – His Majesty the King's Football Cup).
With 25 titles, FC Barcelona are the most successful club in the Copa del Rey. Barça are closely followed by Athletic Club with 23 King's
Cup victories.
